In this review we will be taking a closer look at the Srixon Soft Feel Golf Balls, however, two of Srixon’s best known golf balls are the Q-Star and the Z-Star which are targeted at lower handicap golfers and professional golfers. 

The Srixon Soft Feel golf ball is one of Srixon’s lowest-priced models, which would position it well for the newer golfer, or those on a budget. Although it is cheaper than the more well-known brands don’t let that put you off, it is one of the most popular models in the Srixon range. This is a highly regarded golf ball that has been adapted and improved over the years. 

A Soft Feel is a two-piece golf ball which according to Srixon is best suited to golfers with swing speeds between 70-80 mph, (which is slightly slower than average), so higher handicap or beginner golfers will see the best results. Choosing a golf ball that matches your ideal swing speed could give you a yardage boost from the tee. 

What we also liked about the soft feel golf ball was the alignment line along the side of the ball. This can help higher handicap golfers when lining up their putts on the green – you could even hole more putts!

This model has a compression of 71, which makes it a softer feeling golf ball which will promote improved distance, higher launch, and better control around the greens. Golf ball manufacturers rate their golf ball compression on a scale from 120 to as low as 30. The lower the number the softer the golf ball. The Titleist Pro V1 in comparison has a compression of 87. 

The Srixon Soft Feel features a FastLayer Core. This means that the soft inner core of the golf ball is designed to get gradually firmer closer to the edge of the golf ball which gives the golfer a great feel and added distance. 

The outside of the Soft Feel is an Ionomer cover which is designed to help with greater ball speed and lower spin off the driver but also offers an amazingly soft feel with your short game. 

We found that the Soft Feel matched its name when we tested it out on the course, it had an excellent soft feel and sounded very soft playing both long and short game shots. 

Although we’re not professional golfers we did feel that backspin was not as easy to generate with our short irons, this wasn’t a surprise as this isn’t a premium or tour model golf ball. It’s designed for higher handicap golfers. 

Off the tee, and with longer irons this golf ball added ball speed, it also reduced sidespin which meant better accuracy off the tee and on our approach shots. We did notice that the balls marked easily, so durability might be something to consider depending on how often you play. 

Overall, we were impressed with this golf ball, it felt very soft, and the feeling and response from the putter's face gave us a lot of confidence. 

The Srixon Soft Feel is available in Pure White and Tour Yellow. The company offers a ladies' model as well, the soft Feel Lady. There’s even a new ‘Soft Feel Brite’ range that offers brightly colored matte effect golf balls. These come in red, orange, and green colors.

Overall, we were very impressed with the Srixon Soft Feel. It is an excellent value-for-money golf ball, perfectly suited for amateur golfers, particularly higher handicap golfers.
